Keeping The Rental Portfolio Decorated Brings Better Returns

When you take over the tenancy of a poperty, be that a house or flat for private dwelling, there are many factors to be borne in mind.  Firstly the decor and standard of interior design may not be to your exact taste.  In fact many a rented property has unfortunate decoration or interior design.    Landlords will generally ensure the house is in liveable condition but it won’t include attractive decor as a rule.  In fact in the many different flats I had to rent in my younger days, most were just about habitable – most had awful grubby kitchens with wildlife living inside the cupboards and floorboards. These days there are more laws to protect the tenant so things should have improved.   Many landlords do not always see that by showing an interest in the decor and general appearance of their property, then they can claim a higher rental figure and over a two year tenure period, this can mount up to quite substantially.  It just needs some foresight and a good decorating company.
