It’s quite an experience when you first start to look at changing your kitchen or bathroom. In these days of hi tech equipment, the ‘designer’ no longer sits there in front of you with a pad of graph paper, pencil in hand. It’s all CAD with 3D effects – for someone of my generation, which is to say, not in my twenties . . . . it’s an absolutely amazing experience. I was looking at kitchen design and went to a major supplier – my initial peek around their magnificent show room rapdily involved me booking a ‘team surveyor’ to come to measure my kitchen and check the services and utilities available. That took over an hour – apparently my kitchen is not small! Of course, with so much choice of cabinet design, door features, pull out options, fixed integral ‘white’ goods, there is far too much to take in. I came away somewhat shell shocked at the level of detail we had covered during my designer session and yet a day or so later, when I awoke from the stupor, the little doubts started!
